The training centre will support skill development across plumbing, mechanical services, and fire protection to meet the future demand of jobs in NSW.

The NSW Premier, Chris Minns, has announced a $25 million redevelopment of the Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC) in Glenwood, NSW to establish a vocational training centre referred to as a Hydrogen Centre of Excellence (HcoE).

With the hydrogen industry set to become a major player in NSW renewable energy, the training centre will support skill development across plumbing, mechanical services, and fire protection to meet the future demand for jobs in this area. Construction is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2025.

Also on hand for the announcement were the Minister for Skills, TAFE and Tertiary Education, Steve Whan; the Minister for Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Heritage, Penny Sharpe; and PICAC CEO Shayne La Combre.

This successful partnership between government and industry showcases what can be achieved when key stakeholders work together.

AMCA is proud to partner with PICAC to help deliver the skills our industry needs now and into the future.
