Introduction to digital technologies such as 3D laser scanners and robotic total stations and how they can increase efficiencies, improve accuracy and reliability during the construction and installation process.

The course will give a brief introduction to Leica Scanners – the BLK360 and RTC360 and how they are being used to capture detailed point clouds of existing buildings and how that data is used to generate detailed design for use during the construction lifecycle and beyond. We will also look at the power of the Leica iCON robotic total stations and how they are used with the digital data to lay out crucial points on site very accurately and extremely quickly. There will be some industry case studies as examples to back up how well these digital processes are being used.
