Crucial Women in Construction was established in South
Australia in 2020 and is a group that aims to celebrate the wonderful women who
are a crucial part of their businesses in the subcontractor sector of the
building and construction industries.
AMCA SA is one of the founding sponsors of Crucial Women in
Construction, along with D-STAL Electrical, Automated Air, NECA SA/NT, and
Master Plumbers SA.
The CWIC initiative launched its inaugural high tea in
February 2020, with the intention of bringing together likeminded people who
support the important work that women undertake in the industry.
The high tea is a relaxed social event that provides
attendees with the opportunity to network, discuss gender issues in the
industry, hear from inspiring guest speakers and win prizes, all while enjoying
some light refreshments.
The 2020 CWIC high tea was held in February at the Mayfair
Hotel in Adelaide. The event was a huge success, with tickets selling out in
just four days.
This year’s high tea will take place at the National Wine
Centre in Adelaide on Friday, March 5. This larger venue will ensure there is
plenty of space for all attendees, and all activities on the day will comply
with COVID-safe practices.
You can find out more about the 2021 high tea and purchase
tickets here.
We encourage AMCA SA members to register for the event and
join their peers in celebrating the valuable contributions of women in the
building and construction industries.
