AMCA QLD celebrates the career of Graham Mackrill

This year's annual industry dinner provided the perfect opportunity for the AMCA, our members and guests to celebrate the outstanding career of Graham Mackrill following his retirement after 17 years as Executive Director of AMCA Queensland.

This year’s Annual Industry Dinner offered the AMCA and our members the opportunity to celebrate the career and contribution made by Graham Mackrill.

Over 120 members and guests joined the AMCA to celebrate, including four past presidents and numerous distinguished guests and colleagues from across the years.

Having accepted the role of Executive Director of Queensland in 2001, Graham later added NSW to his portfolio and was a long-time representative on the AMCA National Council.

Throughout his time, Graham represented the AMCA on numerous government and industry forums at both state and national level, becoming recognised for his honest, thoughtful, and measured approach.

Beginning with a speech by current President of AMCA Queensland, Ashley Robinson, Graham’s legacy was highlighted throughout the evening, including a letter read out from current Queensland Minister Mick de Brenni.

"Graham leaves an impressive legacy for the sector. I recognise his contribution as a leader, not only in his sector but, just as the AMCA is, a leader across the construction industry,” Minister de Brenni said.

Disappointment at not being able to attend due to travel restrictions, AMCA colleagues from around Australia expressed also sent heartfelt messages of thanks and congratulations which were played on the night.

Having commenced retirement earlier this year, Graham enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with AMCA members and was visibly moved at the amount of respect and appreciation shown.

We wish both Graham and Jannie a happy retirement, noting they will always be welcome at the AMCA .

Finally, AMCA Queensland would like to thank our generous sponsors for their ongoing support and for helping to make the evening a success:
