AMCA welcomes new Chief Executive Officer, Scott Williams
The Air Conditioning & Mechanical Contractors’ Association (AMCA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Williams as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Scott joins the AMCA after eleven years serving as CEO of the Fire Protection Association Australia (FPA), where he successfully oversaw the execution of a national strategy while strengthening the organisation's presence in each state jurisdiction.
AMCA National President, Michael Anthony, said that the selection panel was highly conscious of the recruitment process taking place during a period of unprecedented uncertainty, making it critical that the right person is appointed.
“The recruitment process was exhaustive and highly competitive,” Mr Anthony said.
“Scott has the right mix of experience and industry knowledge needed to support members and guide the AMCA through the COVID-19 recovery.
Under Scott’s stewardship, the FPA established the Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme (FPAS), which has become the high watermark for practitioners in the industry and a recognised point of difference for its members nationally.
As a testament to its quality and standing with government, FPAS was formally recognised in NSW as the accepted evidence of competence for fire safety practitioners.
“We know that Scott is well-respected across the broader industry—including government, regulators, and other industry bodies,” said Mr Anthony.
“He will be a strong and formidable advocate for all members, so we’re delighted that he has decided to join the AMCA.”
Already very familiar with the industry and many within the membership, and having met the AMCA team already, Scott will hit the ground running when he begins formally on Monday, 10 August.
