Box Hill | Awareness and legal requirements for hydrocarbon

This unit covers specialised procedures for servicing and repairs to achieve the effective and efficient operation of primarily self-contained air conditioning and refrigeration equipment using Hydrocarbon as the refrigerant.

 

The Master Refrigeration Program is designed to complement other training programs and experience gained in Heating Ventilation and Air-conditioning Industry. The AMCA has adopted a blended delivery method, integrating technology enhanced learning using AMCA’s Learning Management System with face-to-face teaching using the RCCC PODs to enhance the student learning experience.

Course
This unit covers specialised procedures for servicing and repairs to achieve the effective and efficient operation of primarily self-contained air conditioning and refrigeration equipment using Hydrocarbon as the refrigerant.  It reinforces safe working practice and encompasses applying specialised knowledge of refrigeration principles that apply to Hydrocarbon, following service manuals, testing, locating and rectifying faults and defective components and completing the necessary service documentation.  The student is also required to complete UEENEEJ174A Apply Safety Awareness and Legal Requirements for Hydrocarbon Refrigerants.

Target Audience 
Those holding a Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning from the UEE11 Electrotechnology Training Package, or equivalent, meet the requirements of these units and their pre-requisite requirements.

Pre-Requisites  
It is essential that anyone undertaking this skill set already holds the Competency Standard of the following units: UEENEEJ111A Diagnose and rectify faults in air conditioning and refrigeration systems and components and UEENEEJ113A Commission air conditioning and air conditioning. 

Structure: 16Hrs
Day 1 – Theory (Delivery and Assessment, can be completed Self-paced online or in the classroom at BHI. 
Day 2 – Practical (Delivered and Assessed at BHI)

Qualification/Award
Statement of Attainment for UEENEE174/UEENEE175/VU22853 issued by Box Hill Institute.
These units are Elective units for the 22329VIC Course in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Services Certificate. 

 Who should attend?
Learners are best equipped to achieve the course outcomes, if they have minimum language, literacy and numeracy skills that are equivalent to Level 3 of the Australian Core Skills Framework. It is expected that learners have trade level qualifications or an equivalent level of experience in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry.

Why you should attend?
At the conclusion of the two-day course, attendees will have a comprehensive understanding of the different types of control devices and systems, as well as their responsibilities under relevant standards, regulations and building codes.

Attendees will learn how to interpret control system specifications, operate and maintain control hardware and software and tune for system performance, as well as learn relevant health and safety requirements.

Cancellation Policy

The AMCA reserve the right to cancel, postpone or reschedule events and training courses due to insufficient interest or other reasons beyond our control. In the instance that events or training courses are cancelled, a full refund will be given.

Refund Policy

A full refund will be given if the AMCA is notified in writing a minimum of 4 business days prior to the course commencement date. A 50% administration charge will be incurred if the AMCA is notified within 3 business days or less. No refund will be given if the AMCA is not notified of cancellation.
