Fire & Smoke Dampers Duct Installer Workshop

The Fire and Smoke Dampers Duct Installers Workshop is an industry best practice course which provides instruction on the correct physical installation and maintenance of fire, smoke, and air dampers.

This course was created by the Air Conditioning & Mechanical Contractors’ Association to share knowledge, support talent, and promote growth across the industry.

You will be issued with a Statement of Attendance for the Fire and Smoke Dampers Duct Installers Workshop.

Learning outcomes

This course is recommended for any workers who are involved in the physical installation of fire dampers, including ductwork installers, leading hands, and supervisors.

The workshop will cover:

  • Fire and smoke hazards in buildings
  • Penetration and opening problems
  • Regulations and legal requirements
  • Fire and smoke damper hardware and installation requirements 
  • How fire, smoke, and air dampers do their job
  • Installation, foxing, and sealing
  • Access and fixing for ongoing maintenance
  • Standards and manufacturers requirements for certification and maintenance

This workshop is available to AMCA members and RACCA members at a discounted rate.  Complimentary tea and coffee is provided on the day.

Refund and cancellation policy

A full refund will be provided if the AMCA is notified in writing at least 5 working days prior to the workshop.  We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule due to insufficient registrations or other reasons beyond our control. In the event of a cancellation, a full refund will be provided.

Cancellation Policy

The AMCA reserve the right to cancel, postpone or reschedule events and training courses due to insufficient interest or other reasons beyond our control. In the instance that events or training courses are cancelled, a full refund will be given.

Refund Policy

A full refund will be given if the AMCA is notified in writing a minimum of 4 business days prior to the course commencement date. A 50% administration charge will be incurred if the AMCA is notified within 3 business days or less. No refund will be given if the AMCA is not notified of cancellation.
